USSF Patch: Displaying the current year and referee grade. Shirt:The following four shirts (as illustrated above) have been approved by the federation for referees at all levels.
ALL REFEREES are expected to at least have a YELLOW Short Sleeve Shirt (with black pinstripes and black collar) and to choose the color referee shirt that best contrasts themselves from both team uniforms. However, there is not preferred order or designated primary color among the four uniforms. The entire referee crew should wear the same color shirt and same length sleeve (i.e. short or long sleeve) if at all possible. The referee shirt is to be worn completely tucked-in and in a professional manner. If the referee shirt is attired prior to arriving at the field is shall be subject to this standard upon arrival. If a shirt is worn under the approved Referee Shirt, it shall be worn in a manner that conceals its presence (if the undershirt can be seen in the collar area, it should be white, black, or match the color of the referee shirt). IMPORTANT: An undershirt shall not extend beyond the sleeve of the referee shirt except in inclement weather. In this case, it shall be worn as professionally as possible. The other parts of the referee uniform (shorts, socks, shoes) remain the same regardless of which color shirt is worn. Shorts:
Shorts are to be secured around the
waist and worn on the referees hips in a professional manner (preventing
any undergarments from showing). Socks:
Worn to cover the entire leg below
the knee (socks should be pulled up and remain at the bend of the knee
before the referee arrives at the field and until after he leaves). Shoes:
Shoes should be clean and polished
before the referee arrives at the field. |
